I kept hearing the advertisements on KLOVE for Pastor Mark Driscoll's Real Marriage Tour. I knew a couple of singles that were planning to go from church, but I wasn't convinced this was the event I should attend. Tickets were $35. I asked the Lord to provide if He wanted me to go. I then received a check in the mail for $50. Being so practical, I started to think about what bill I could pay with this unexpected money. Then I received another unexpected $50 check in the mail! God was clearly telling me that ticket was paid. I attended the weekend seminar, and was SO glad I went! I was blessed beyond belief at the information I heard about friendship within a marriage and his candid talk about sex and expectations. When I came home, I found his sermon series on the same information here on his church's website. I hope you will be as blessed as I was to hear this valuable information (for free)!
I'm on the second message, the friendship one. Speaker is so interesting!
ReplyDeleteSomebody told me once that if God meant for you to really hear something, He would repeat it. Sounds like you got that message by getting the two money gifts. I'm glad you went!
ReplyDeleteI have been listening to lots of his stuff lately. I watched a clip of his interview on YouTube yesterday and was impressed and wondering if he would make it out in one piece! =) Glad to see your post. We need to catch up soon. Bless you Carrie.
ReplyDeleteI’ve been following and enjoying your blog for a while now and would like to invite you to visit and perhaps follow me back. Sorry I took so long for the invitation.
ReplyDeletePraise God for his provision and blessing. So glad you could go and enjoy the message.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to listening to that, thank you for posting! Blessings!
ReplyDeleteI love the old saying, "When the student is ready, the Teacher shows up." It's very likely you were blessed because God knew there would be gems conveyed He wanted to knit to your heart.
ReplyDeleteI've been married nearly 46 years and I'm thinking I would still be a good student for these particular lessons.
Bless you,
Kathleen
Hey! Hadn't checked on your blog in awhile, and just dropped by to see how you were doing!
ReplyDeleteCarrie- Thank you so much for sharing this resource! It's so necessary to speak the truth and reality of marriage. Often we buy into the Hollywood version and cannot sustain something like that. It is not authentic. In a real marriage one goes through issues and challenges. To talk about this and address the reality is so needed. Thanks for thinking of all of us and sharing the valuable information.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless you and your daughter!
