Hope

Hope. That was the word I received as I sought the Lord for direction in 2012. I'm excited about that after the really hard last three years I've had. I took a blogging break for about 6 weeks to get quiet with the Lord, and I sense a shift in direction in my prayer life. I was feeling very hopeful as I started this new year because I had spent the prior 12 weeks in a class offered through my church called, "Restoring Relationships: Healing for the Brokenhearted." It was really quite a journey and not an easy one. The course prompts you to look at your wounds, some I hadn't thought about for 30 years. The concept is to recognize the pain, validate it, receive reconciliation and forgiveness, and become healed. That is exactly what happened to me, and for the first time in my life, I don't feel at ought with anyone. I feel at peace. I feel whole. I am renewed! And I will be helping teach the class next semester at my church! God is good. He can turn any pain into a purpose!

The class is a DVD/workbook format, but if anyone desires to do this on their own, you can order the workbook and it alone would bring amazing healing. It was the best $15 I ever spent. The results were life changing.

  2. Great word for the year. I'm glad to hear you found a program that spoke to you. Everyone handles grief and change differently. I'm sure part of your purpose through Him is to help others along the path.

  6. It's amazing when one truly is obedient to follow His leading. It's one of those kind of pain that is worth it: exposing our wounded hearts only to be healed by His grace and love. Thank you for sharing this. God bless and may His wisdom and discernment always guide and protect you as you teach others.

  11. I love how God gave us the same One Word for 2012! He knows exactly what we needed.

I recently finished Chapter 4 of Renee Swope's "A Confident Heart" which dealt with this same issue -- dealing with our past pains so we could move forward with confidence and hope. It was an emotionally but very worthwhile experience!

It's evident that God is already using the word "hope" in a mighty way and I'll be praying for you as you lead this class.

    Love and blessings, my friend!
